Storms, Tornadoes Rake Illinois

Heavy storms including tornadoes are blamed for two deaths in Illinois overnight.
Authorities say one person was killed in the LaSalle County town of Ottawa when he was struck by an uprooted tree.
And in southern Illinois, the White County Coroner says a suspected tornado hit a small building near a house in the Crossville area, killing a 71-year-old man and injuring his wife.
In Missouri, an apparent tornado was blamed for a fatality as it tore through Perry County, about 80 miles south of St. Louis.
The storms also battered parts of Indiana as they moved eastward into Ohio and states to the south.
Governor Bruce Rauner planned a visit to Ottawa Wednesday morning to survey the storm damage. Besides the fatality, a tornado destroyed the county nursing home, although no one was hurt or seriously injured.
Ameren reported power outages in central and southern several Illinois counties due to the storm. As of 8:52 AM Wednesday morning, electricity was still out for 2,069 customers (8% of their total customers in that county) in LaSalle County and 882 customers in Alexander County, the southernmost county in Illinois (100% of Ameren’s customers in that county).
The National Weather Service says survey teams would be moving across Illinois Wednesday to catalog the damage and determine how many tornadoes came through, and how much time they spent on the ground.
