About WILL/Illinois Public Media

Illinois Public Media is a not-for-profit public media service of the College of Media at the University of Illinois, educating, entertaining, inspiring and empowering by airing the best of public television and radio programs, producing local content for broadcast and the Web, and working with community partners to address needs and concerns.

WILL-AM 580 offers a comprehensive alternative to quick-fix news through local and regional coverage as well as a local talk show, weather and agricultural news, and coverage from NPR and the BBC. Also available on 90.9 FM HD3 (see About Digital Radio).
 
WILL-FM 90.9 offers programming to nourish the spirit and the mind, with classical music along with local news and NPR’s news magazines, “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered.”  Also available on FM 90.9 HD1.

WILL-FM 101.1 Illinois Soul is a not-for-profit public radio station licensed to Illinois Public Media and the College of Media at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. FM 101.1 elevates Black voices, music, and culture throughout central Illinois, and online, with the power of public media. Illinois Soul airs NPR shows, produces local news for broadcast and the Web, and works hand-in-hand with the community to address their needs and concerns. Also available on 90.9 FM HD2.

WILL-TV blends a core of PBS programming with locally produced documentaries and programs such as Mid-American Gardener and Prairie Fire that focus on central Illinois. WILL-TV is available in high definition when available on channel 12.1, and on Comcast, Mediacom, and other cable and satellite TV services.

WILL World provides PBS documentaries, news, and public affairs programming. WILL World shares channel 12.3, airing during the programming’s primetime from 5 pm to 5 am. Also available on Comcast, Mediacom, and other cable TV services.

WILL Create offers programming on cooking, travel, gardening and home improvement, arts and crafts. WILL Create shares channel 12.3, airing during the programming’s primetime from 5 am to 5 pm. Also available on Comcast, Mediacom, and other cable TV services.

WILL KIDS 24/7 broadcasting PBS KIDS shows 24 hours a day on channel 12.2, making it easier for children to watch their favorite series during primetime and other after-school hours, when viewing among families is high. Also available on Comcast, Mediacom, and other cable TV services.
 
WILL Online at will.illinois.edu provides live streaming of the WILL-AM signal; news stories; archived audio of all our local programs and agricultural market reports; weather forecasts; an education site for teachers and parents; and more information about Illinois Public Media programs, services and projects.
