Frida Arellano never thought that she would call Arcola, Illinois home. Until her family moved here from McAllen, Texas to find work and hope for a better life.

Arcola native Johnny Gruelle patented his Raggedy Ann doll in 1915, and a group of Raggedy Ann collectors are leading the celebration in Arcola this weekend.

Illinois State Police are leading an investigation of a fatal shooting by an Arcola police officer in the line of duty on Saturday.
