Cangellaris Named New Provost For Urbana Campus

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has hired a new Provost, and they’re keeping the new hire in-house.

Chancellor Robert Jones named Andreas Cangellaris the Provost for the Urbana campus.

Cangellaris most recently was dean of the U of I College of Engineering.

Jones chose Cangellaris over three outside candidates.

The University of Illinois Board of Trustees has to approve the hire. Cangellaris is scheduled to start his new duties on January 16, and be paid $502,000 annually.
