Hundreds of experts, researchers and women who are incarcerated recently teamed up to come up with better ways to serve women in Illinois prisons, and reduce the female prison population in general.

Flanked by inmates at the all-female Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln, Gov. Bruce Rauner signed legislation to create a women-specific division within the Department of Corrections.
