You’ll hear John Knowles Paine’s “1st Symphony”, William Schuman’s “8th Symphony” and the Suite from ‘The Mother of Us All’” by Virgil Thomson.  Also on the program Charles Ives’ “Three Places in New England”.

Monday night November 7 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”.  Leonard Bernstein conducts Virgil Thomson’s “The Seine at Night” and Milhaud’s “Les Choephores”. Also on the program, George Szell conducts Mahler’s “4th Symphony”.

Monday night July 11 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Leonard Bernstein conducts the Philharmonic in his “Chichester Psalms”, Bach’s “5th Brandenburg Concerto” and Schumann’s “Mandfred Overture”. Also on the program music by Debussy, and Virgil Thomson.
