At a standing-room-only town hall meeting held at the College of Law library in Champaign Wednesday night, law students grilled University of Illinois administrators over their handling of a sexual harassment case involving professor Jay Kesan.

One of the University of Illinois law professors who signed a letter opposing the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court said she found his accuser to be a more credible witness.

The right to a criminal trial by jury is spelled out in the United States Constitution, both in Article Three, and in the Sixth Amendment.  Despite the right to a trial by jury, fewer than five percent of criminal cases filed in court are actually decided by a jury.  And that’s a problem, according to University of Illinois law professor Suja Thomas.
