Global electronics manufacturer, Foxconn, and the University of Illinois have partnered on a $100 million smart technology research center headquartered on the Urbana-Champaign campus. 

The $41 million addition and renovation was made possible through a donation from 1981 graduate Sidney Lu, the first chairman and CEO of Foxconn Interconnect Technology Limited, a subsidiary of electronic manufacturing giant Foxconn.
