Mandarin Play-by-Play At U of I Boosting Fan Base

U of I students David He and Bruce Lu are broadcasting all Fighting Illini home football games this season in Mandarin Chinese. Reporting for NPR, Rob McColley looks at how it's drawing interest.

Illini Postponed To Saturday; Home Games To Be Broadcast In Chinese

Friday night's severe weather moved the Illini-Kent State contest to 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium. And for the first time, Fighting Illini.com will offer online broadcasts of home games in Mandarin Chinese. Play-by-play announcer David He calls it a first for not only the school, but the NCAA.
