Patrick Danen and Robert Rodgers were lovers and partners in Ivesdale, Illinois until both men died of AIDS witin months of each other in the 1980s. They are remembered by friends.

Students from eight high schools in the Champaign-Urbana area will stage a demonstration Saturday to call for stronger gun control measures. The protest is one of hundreds of similar events happening across the country, including Washington D.C., under the moniker “March For Our Lives.”

About 100 teachers and support staff recently gathered in a junior high school in central Illinois to take on the roles of people living in poverty.
