A group of Champaign-Urbana residents ferried University of Illinois students to polling places off campus on Tuesday. The effort came together after reports of long lines at the campus polling place inside the Illini Union. 

​Three Champaign County Board candidates whose nominations faced challenges will now get their names on the November ballot without opposition.

The two candidates for Champaign County Executive, Republican Gordy Hulten and Democrat Darlene Kloeppel, both say they'll be able to overcome divisions on the Champaign County Board in order to reach consensus.

 The Champaign County clerk has rejected a request for more early-voting locations from student leaders at the University of Illinois campus in Urbana-Champaign.

While a new Illinois law allows for easier voter registration, the Champaign County Clerk is warning potential voters to double-check their status.
