Monday night February 5 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Esa-Pekka Salonen’s “L.A. Variations” and Richard Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben featuring concertmaster Frank Huang. The program closes with Haydn’s “103rd Symphony”.

Thursday night July 7 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “The New York Philharmonic This Week” program that was postponed due to the 4th of July Holiday. You’ll hear Strauss’ “Don Quixote” and “Ein Heldenleben”.

You’ll hear Strauss’ “Ein Heldenleben”, Fritz Reiner conducting, Elgar’s “Enigma Variations”, Sir Georg Solti conducting, and Brahms’ “Academic Festival Overture”, Daniel Barenboim conducting. That’s a celebration of CSO founder Theodore Thomas on the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.
