The Champaign County Drug Court is designed to help people with decades of substance abuse issues. This week, 14 people will celebrate a year of sobriety as they graduate from the voluntary program that’s been running for almost 20 years.
On Wednesday, four people whose substance abuse led to felony convictions will celebrate a year of sobriety when they graduate from Champaign Country Drug Court, in a 2:30 PM ceremony at the Urbana Civic Center.
The Champaign County Drug Court will soon offer a new option for some trying to break their addiction to heroin. The pilot program launches later this month and will eventually provide medication and therapy to up to 30 people who qualify and consent to the treatment.
