State police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the Campustown area of Champaign.

A Champaign Police officer was arraigned on burglary charges Tuesday in connection with a string of motor vehicle break-ins in the nearby town of Fisher.

The Champaign County Racial Justice Task Force wants to hear from you after it released 31 recommendations to improve racial justice in the county.

There are no reports of injuries, but at least two rural properties were destroyed near Homer and Broadlands.  Meterologist Jeff Frame says he estimates the tornado, which stayed on the ground for 17 minutes, as an EF-2 based on the level of damage. There are also reports of at least one more tornado and some damage in Vermilion County.

Champaign County Sheriff's investigators say an analysis of DNA evidence by a private lab indicates that Cassano's killer was likely male and "probably with some" Hispanic, Native American, Central American or South American heritage.
