By "Unfinished" it is meant that there are only two movements of a traditional four movement symphony....but what a great work, "unfinished" or not!
Three days. That's all it took. Shostakovich wrote the "Festive Overture" in 1954 for the 37th Anniversary of the 'October Revolution' in three days!
Ironically so, this program was scheduled before Maestro Masur's death in December, 2015!
