Music of Destiny
On this week's Prairie Performances, Friday at 7 pm on WILL-FM 90.9, the first of four concerts this month with compositions by Composer-in Residence Stacy Garrop. And this evening promises an exciting offering of acclaimed masterworks and engaging discoveries will have you on the edge of your seat. Composer Garrop will introduce three compelling portraits from her Mythology Symphony. Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto is perhaps the most perfect ever composed. The Champaign-Urbana Symphony will be joined by Stefan Milenkovich, one of the greatest violinists of his generation. The evening concludes with Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, which is always thrilling to hear whether in live performance or broadcast.
