United Way Wants You To Be A Smart Giver For “Giving Tuesday”
The United Way of Champaign County hopes people will pitch in to help those in need on "Giving Tuesday."
"Giving Tuesday" started in 2012 and focuses on people giving to charitable causes after "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday." Mary Noel Stefan, with the United Way of Champaign County, encourages people to give to a charity they are passionate about, and the United Way is one of many options. "We focus on improving education, health and financial stability in Champaign County. We’re local and a great way to impact your community," Stefan said.
To learn more about a charity before making a donation, Stefan suggests researching the charity’s website, and checking the site charitynavigator.org, to be an informed giver for "Giving Tuesday."
