Unit 4 Shows Off Facilities Plans At ‘Town Hall’ Meeting
The Champaign Unit 4 school district hosted a public "town hall" style meeting Thursday night to display proposals for new and renovated schools. The meeting was held at one of the buildings that could be renovated and expanded: Champaign Central High School.
A special facilities committee made up of community members has endorsed plans for improvements at several schools ---- including Unit 4's two high schools, Edison Middle School, and three elementary schools: South Side, Dr. Howard and the International Prep Academy.
News-Gazette education reporter Nicole Lafond covered the meeting, and discussed it with Illinois Pubic Media's Brian Moline, in an interview that first aired live during Morning Edition on WILL.
Unit 4 plans a second public meeting on its facilities plans. It's set for 6 PM on Thursday, July 14th at Centennial High School.
