Authorities say two Vermilion County men are dead after a shooting on Danville’s east side Wednesday night.
Danville Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says police were called to Main and Griffin streets about 5:45 p.m., where two vehicles were reportedly seen fleeing the area.
One victim, identified by Vermilion County County Coroner Peggy Johnson as 27-year old Hank Hamilton of Vermilion County, died minutes later at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. An autopsy reveals he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The other man died after being transferred to Carle Hospital in Urbana. Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup identifies him as 20-year old Michael Trotter Junior of Danville.
No arrest have been made. Thomason says detectives continue to interview witnesses. Anyone with more information can contact the Danville Police Criminal Investigations Division at 431-2243 or Vermilion County Crimestoppers at 446-TIPS (8477.)
