Teen Jailed After Death Of Decatur Girl

Police in Decatur say they have arrested a teenage boy following the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl.

Officers found Junisha Unique Cummings of Decatur lying in a street with a gunshot wound to the head late Wednesday afternoon. She died Wednesday night at a hospital in Urbana.
 
The Herald & Review in Decatur reports authorities have arrested the 15-year-old boy on a preliminary charge of first-degree murder.
 
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup says an autopsy is planned for Thursday.
 
Police say they continue to investigate Cummings' death.
