Supt: Ill. K-12 School Funding Crisis At Tipping Point
State school officials are sounding the alarm over inadequate state funding for Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Just under a billion dollars has been cut during the past three years alone. Add to this, late payments to schools, the ambiguity of pension costs, and a 5-percent cut in federal funding due to sequestration and the situation seems worse than bleak.
