Sullivan Schools Dismiss Early Due To Bomb Threat, One Person Arrested
Police in Sullivan have made an arrest in connection with a bomb threat that led to the early dismissal Friday afternoon of the town’s three public schools.
In a post on the Sullivan Community Unit School District #25 website, Superintendent Ted Walk says the note discovered today indicated a bomb threat at Sullivan High School. Although the note’s credibility was unknown, Walk says they decided to dismiss class early this afternoon at Sullivan high school, middle school and elementary school — which are all located near each other.
Police and school district officials then searched school buildings and grounds. They found no evidence of a bomb, and officials believe there is no “current threat” to school safety.
However, Walk says police arrested an individual in connection with the threat. He gave no further details about the arrest.
