Schnucks Customer Data Taken in Cyber-Attack

St. Louis grocery store chain Schnucks announced yesterday that customer data was compromised in a series of cyber-attacks.

An internal investigation revealed that between last December and March 29th, over 2.4 million customer credit and debit cards had been accessed. Schnucks confirmed in a press release that 79 of their 100 stores in the Midwest have been hit.

Even though card numbers and expiration dates were accessed, Schnucks believes that hackers did not get cardholder names or addresses. Schnucks has posted information about the attack on their website and are encouraging customers who think their account has been compromised to contact the Consumer Protection Agency.
