Quincy Beats Danville In Prospect League Playoff Opener

The Quincy Gems defeated the visiting Danville Dans 4 to 3 in 11 innings Tuesday night at QU Stadium. The game opened the Prospect League West Division title series. 

The Gems won the championship in the collegiate-level Prospect League in 2009 and 2011.

Games two and three of the best-of-three series are scheduled for Wednesday night at 6:30 PM at Danville Stadium. If needed, game three will be played Thursday night at Danville Stadium.

In the East Division series opener, the West Virginia Miners defeated the Chillicothe Paints, 1 to nothing, in Chillicothe Ohio. Game two is Wednesday night at the Miner’s stadium in Beckley, West Virginia.
