Koch Media Winning Bidder for Champaign-Based Volition

A German company has cast the winning bid for a Champaign-based video game design studio in Delaware bankruptcy court Wednesday.

Court documents show Koch Media bid just over $22-million for the company most known for developing the ‘Saints Row’ line of games.

Parent company THQ auctioned off its assets, including Volition, this week. 

The German-based Koch owns the game publisher Deep Silver, and has been a distributor for THQ. 

According to the News-Gazette, Volition general manager Dan Cermack says the company’s future looks ‘very positive.’
