Illinois State Police Tout New Concealed-Carry Website
Illinois State Police say they have launched a new website that publicizes the application process for Illinoisans who want to carry concealed weapons.
State police introduced the site on Thursday. Applications for carrying concealed weapons will be available beginning on Jan. 5.
Police say the new website should give would-be applicants additional information about eligibility requirements, application fees, training requirements and official forms. There also will be details for firearms instructors.
The website may be accessed through the state police's official site.
Authorities anticipate 400,000 people will apply for concealed carry permits in the first year alone.
