Illinois Congressman Says New Sanctions Needed To Send Message To Iran

Members of Congress continue to push for new sanctions on Iran over its nuclear ambitions. That's despite President Obama's warning that any new economic sanctions could derail ongoing negotiations.
Republican Congressman Rodney Davis, of Taylorville, says the U.S. needs to send a message: That if Iran doesn't want to face additional sanctions it should agree to terms soon.
"They ought to get to work pretty quickly before the Senate can pass this legislation," he said. "There ought to be a sense of urgency on both sides rather than having them both talk in perpetuity about what they want to do and actually let's see some results."
Senator Mark Kirk, Republican from Illinois, plans to co-sponsor a bill that would impose new sanctions on Iran only if nuclear talks collapse.
President Obama promised to veto any such measure.
