Gifford Village President Looks Ahead Following Storm
The village president of the Champaign County town of Gifford says his community is moving forward following last week’s tornado.
The federal government says 15 counties in Illinois, including Champaign, will get federal support to assist with disaster recovery. That can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs and low-cost loans for uninsured property losses.
Gifford Village President Derald Ackerman tells Illinois Public Media’s Sean Powers that he’s relieved his community is getting extra support.
