Coroner: Millikin Student’s Death ‘Undetermined’
The Macon County coroner's office says the preliminary cause of death for a 19-year-old Millikin University student is "undetermined.''
Amanda Puckett was found unresponsive in her dorm room on Sunday morning. The sophomore from Orland Hills was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital in Decatur.
Coroner Michael Day says there's no reason to believe there was any "criminal activity'' involved in Puckett's death. But he's waiting for test results before issuing a final cause of death.
Those could take several weeks to be returned.
Puckett was a music performance major. In a statement, university administrators said counselors are available for students, faculty and staff.
