Champaign Police Looking For Man Accused Of Sexual Abusing Minor

Police are looking for a Champaign man accused of sexually fondling a 13-year-old Edison Middle School student.

Champaign Police say Herbert J. Howard, 27, has been charged with one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, which is a class 2 felony. The incident between Howard and the young girl allegedly occurred back in November at Edison Middle School. The girl’s parents alerted the school district.

Howard was working as a Hall Monitor with Unit 4, but the school district told the News-Gazette in Champaign that he has been placed on administrative leave.

There ia a warrant for his arrest with bond set at $25,000. Anyone with information should call crime stoppers or the Champaign Police Department.
