Champaign County Home Sales in Aug. Down From Last Year

Sales of existing homes in the Champaign County area were down from a year ago in August, according to the Champaign County Association of Realtors.

272 homes were sold in the area last month, compared to 282 in August of 2013.

It’s the 2nd consecutive month that home sales in the county have dropped from the same month last year  … after seven months of increases.

Meanwhile, pending home sales were up nearly 8 percent in the Champaign County area from last year, with 236 pending sales last month, compared to 219 last August.  Realtors Association President Phil Trautman says  that suggests a “continued positive momentum” as the real estate business heads into the fall.
