Boil Order Issued in St. Joseph

A boil order has been issued for water customers in St. Joseph.

Illinois American Water says a contractor working in the area struck one of their water mains, resulting in a loss of water pressure.

The boil order will stay in effect until 36 hours after water service is restored, and the water in St. Joseph is confirmed safe for consumption.

Water should be boiled five minutes before using for drinking or cooking.
