2 Danville Children Drown In Separate Accidents

Authorities say two Danville children have drowned in separate accidents at pools in the eastern Illinois town.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup says both children died Wednesday afternoon at an Urbana hospital. Danville is about 30 miles east of Urbana on the Indiana state line.

Danville Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says 11-year-old Survella Chapman's father found her on the bottom of a pool at a local fitness center on Tuesday. The two had just split to enter the pool area through separate locker rooms. Family said the girl didn't know how to swim.

Thomason says the center does not employ a lifeguard.

Meanwhile, Thomason says 3-year-old Brysom Dillon's family found him in their home pool Monday night. They say he went outside alone after the family's dinner.
