Mid-American Gardener

Create your own backyard water garden!

This week on Mid-American Gardener, Tinisha is joined by Jim and Kay, and we discuss how to create a successful backyard water garden and how to make the most of your vegetable garden this year.

Jim shared photographs of his above-ground and in-ground water gardens. He describes how he created and cares for each of them, including his numerous water lily varieties.

Kay brought in some of her harvests from her vegetable garden. She teaches us how to preserve herbs, including parsley, basil, thyme, for fresh, flavorful cooking.

We end the episode with a featured segment from our other local program, Prairie Fire. We meet Tony Becker, a gardener who overcame a serious accident that left him a quadriplegic. He shares his love for gardening and the modifications he's made to gardening tools with us.
