Tuesday night February 18 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Vadim Gluzman is the soloist in Shostakovich’s “1st Violin Concerto”. Also on the program Debussy’s “La Mer” and Ravel’s “La Valse”.
Monday night February 17 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with an all-Bernstein program. You’ll hear the “Chichester Psalms”, the “3rd Symphony, Kaddish” and “Suites 1 and 2 from The Dybbuk”. The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.
Sunday night February 16 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “2nd Cello Sonata” and Kodaly’s “Duo for Violin and Cello” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear recently composed music from Latin America on “Fiesta”.
Friday night February 14 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “Love Struck”. Broadcasting this program on Friday nights at 7:00 gives us time to collect new local recordings for use on future “Prairie Performances”.
Wednesday night February 12 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the Cleveland Orchestra. You’ll hear Shostakovich’s “5th Symphony”. Rafael Payare guest conducts. Also on the program Bernstein’s “Symphony No. 2”, “The Age of Anxiety” with pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet as soloist.
