Upcoming Opportunities for Teachers
There are two great, free upcoming opportunities for teachers interested in education, technology, and digital media.
On Saturday, January 24, #EdCampCU launches in Champaign-Urbana. If you've never heard of an EdCamp, check out this short video and learn what to expect and then go sign up!
Here's how the organizers of #EDCampCU describe the event:
EdCampCU provides a place to collectively explore questions that we ask in our own practice. By bringing together community members who care about education - including educators, pre-service teachers, technology coaches, graduate students, professors, and administration - we look to connect through our common inquiry.
An EdCamp is participant-led, meaning that when attendees arrive on Saturday, they build the schedule and choose what sessions to participate in. This flexibility provides attendees opportunities to lead sessions and to join multiple conversations. The sessions will be framed as questions that participants pose (examples might be 'How can we work with students to integrate technology into classroom practice?’ and 'How can we support teachers to best support their students?’). Posing questions invites those who have interest, additional wonderings, and/or expertise in that area, tapping into the range of experience that we will collectively have there.
It will be a great way to spend a Saturday in January - come to EdCampCU ready to ask questions, talk about interesting ideas, see people you know, and meet great people from across Champaign-Urbana. We will have coffee available all day and the Cracked food truck on site when you get hungry. We can’t wait to see you there! More information (and registration) at edcampcu.weebly.com
I hope to see you at both of these events!
