Helping kids keep learning during long hospital stays
A Ph.D. student at Vanderbilt University has designed a mobile maker space now being tested at a children's hospital where patients routinely have long hospital stays, often in isolation. The student, Gokul Krishnan, credits a teen leukemia patient as his co-founder of the project, which began in September 2013. They are continuing to collaborate as the program expands for a trial period at the Tennessee-based hospital.
