The world watched as Megan Thee Stallion exited a Black SUV into police custody with a gunshot wound to the foot in a 2020 video that emerged on social media. The case went up in storms as fans took sides as to who the shooter was and the press stopped at nothing to display the ordeal headline after headline. 

There is no denying that the media has always profited off of fame and turmoil in Black culture, from the Kendrick and Drake beef to the bling of Black athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics and even VP Kamala Harris’ memes, Black culture is at the forefront.  

Sidney Madden and Corey Antonio Rose spoke with Dialogue about some solutions and a path forward as they discussed the NABJ convention, recent pop culture moments, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Then, a conversation with Yolanda Adams on keeping faith during divison.
