Wanda Landowska

When the Polish harpsichordist Wanda Landowska died in 1959, at age of 80, she was revered as the high priestess of the harpsichord. Through her performances and recordings, she was largely responsible for the resurrection of the harpsichord as one of the basic keyboard instruments of the Baroque era. On Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will hear some of her memorable recordings.
