The Bad Boy of Music
George Antheil, whose cacophonic "Ballet Mechanique" caused a riot in Paris, earned in the 1920s the role of "The Bad Boy of Music," a phrase which became in the 1940s the title of his name-dropping autobiography. Calming down in the 1940s, he contributed symphonies to the Harris/Copland tradition.
