Stanislaw Skrowaczewski
The Polish-American conductor Stanislaw Skrowaczewski died this past February. He is probably best known to Americans for his nineteen-year tenure as the music director of the Minnesota Orchestra. He also conducted many other orchestras, and made many records. His compositions were twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
