JoAnn Falletta

The American conductor JoAnn Falletta has held many orchestral directorships and her appointment in 1998 as music director of the Buffalo Philharmonic was historic. Thereby she became the first woman to lead a major American orchestra. She has made many recordings, with orchestras from Buffalo to New Zealand. On Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will hear a sampling of them.
