Hans Werner Henze was one of the most promising composers to come out of post World War II Germany. Early on he was a follower of serialism and soon adopted an eclectic style. After 1968, he was an advocate for left-wing revolution. Mainly known for his operas, he also composed symphonies and concertos. On this week's Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, you will hear samples of Henze’s work.
