Clementi and Hummel, in the Shadow of Beethoven!
Beethoven's works for the piano offered strong competition to his contemporaries. Yet composers at the same time as Beethoven such as Muzio Clementi and Johann Nepomuk Hummel created works which were very important to the development of the piano. Clementi not only played the piano, he made them!
During this week's Classics of the Phonograph we will hear music by these composers. Tune in Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM.
