This training has two components:
1) All participants will receive an invitation email from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, following registration.
2) Once the invitation is accepted, participants will create a profile which will give them access to complete the online prework modules 1 through 9.
The Behavioral Health Workforce Center is honored to partner with the Farm Family Resource Initiative to provide
Adult Mental Health First Aid training to you. These trainings will be facilitated by a combination of three MHFA Certified Instructors, Dr. Taylor Blakeley, Kyle Fontaine, and Joshua Laughhunn from the BHWC at SIU School of Medicine.
---
MHFA trains people to identify, understand and respond when someone is experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.
---
Participants will need to complete 2 hours of pre-work before the 7.5 hour in-person session, complete a post exam and an evaluation in order to become a certified Mental Health First Aider. Upon completion, your certification will be valid for 3 years.
There is no charge to participate thanks to the generous financial support by the Illinois Department of Human Services, the Division of Mental Health. There is limited seating available for these sessions. The training has a maximum of 30 participants. If you have any questions or require any additional accommodations, please contact;
