Where does Illinois stand with the “triple-demic”?
As we start a new year and return to our routines after the holidays, the COVID-19 pandemic still lingers in the background, with a new variant spreading throughout the country. In addition to COVID-19, cases of the flu and RSV have also jumped over the winter, especially in children.
To get a sense of where Illinois stands with these three infectious diseases and to learn more about the new COVID variant, we were joined by a public health medical advisor and professor of infectious diseases.
In order for residents to check COVID-19 numbers around the state, the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Discovery Partners Institute have launched a new website that allows users to track the levels of the virus in the wastewater of different communities.
