This historic house is free, but you have to move it
Are you on the market for a new place? How does a historic, 2,000 square-foot, mid-century home sound? With beautiful floor to ceiling windows, full of sleak walnut doors, and stylish paneling? But the best part of this home, nestled in the Chicago suburb of Elgin, is that it’s free. That is, free if you can move it. The historic mid-century home will be razed if it’s not moved by April 1.
To talk more about these preservation efforts, and this historic mid-century home, we were joined by the director of advocacy for a statewide nonprofit dedicated to saving historic places.
