This historic house is free, but you have to move it
The 2,200-square-foot house was built by the local Modernist architect John Schmidtke. Some are hoping it will be preserved. Via High Street Logistics
Are you on the market for a new place? How does a historic, 2,000 square-foot, mid-century home sound? With beautiful floor to ceiling windows, full of sleak walnut doors, and stylish paneling? But the best part of this home, nestled in the Chicago suburb of Elgin, is that it’s free. That is, free if you can move it. The historic mid-century home will be razed if it’s not moved by April 1.
