Spark! Places of Innovation is a traveling museum exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution that puts rural communities in the spotlight. The exhibit highlights small-towns and rural America in general for their innovations and inventions for society. And Spark! makes the effort to actually visit small-towns, showcasing to locals the big impact their small-town can have. They just finished up an exhibition in Chatsworth, about 45 miles northeast of Bloomington-Normal, and their next stop is Rushville, about 55 miles northwest of Springfield.
