SIU students head to Australia for solar eclipse research
Next year, southern Illinois will once again be in the path of totality for another major North American solar eclipse. It’s only going to last four and a half minutes, so preparation is essential, especially for the people hoping to collect scientific data from the event. A group of Southern Illinois University students, staff and faculty are doing just that by witnessing a different solar eclipse on April 20 of this year. Except to see this one, the team is leaving Southern Illinois and heading to Australia.
The 21st was joined by one of the professors heading Down Under for this research.
