Lawmakers back to decide on abortion and redistricting
In Springfield, members of the Illinois House and Senate are reconvening for what’s being billed as the fall veto session. But with Democrats in control of both the Illinois House and Senate, Democratic Governor JB Pritzker has rarely vetoed any legislation, and there are none pending right now. From the state’s COVID-19 response to expanding abortion rights to drawing new legislative maps for members of Congress — lawmakers have a full agenda. The 21st was joined to talk more about this by two veteran Statehouse reporters.
